Alternative dictionary definitions

Asymptotic: When two people share a bar of chocolate, each snapping off a little bit every now and then, but not wishing to be the person to eat the last piece.

A step up from user to dealer. Is this still 'personal use'?

Statistics and inferences

From the BBC Ten things list:
1. There are, reportedly, just 250 men in the UK who make donations to sperm banks. 1,110 women donate eggs."
Observations:
  • to donate eggs, women go through a fairly complex and painful procedure that is not really recommended by anyone, except unethical fertility practictioners who take donated eggs in lieu of payment for IVF
  • to donate sperm, men, let's face it, point it at a cup
  • do we really think all these 250 men are the PR promise (high flyers/innovators/world beating scientists?)
  • You'll note I missed politicians off that list. They donate for free, often to people on Hampstead Heath with an alternative use for it.
Are these sperm donors actually shrinking (as well as devaluing) the gene pool? How many women use their output? Enquiring minds want to know. But not while we're eating.

Images to sounds

So this article begs an important question: which sound do you hear?

"Gee Brain, what do you want to do tonight?"

Truth is (almost) stranger than fiction: they're dinky, they're Pinky and The Brain...

Yeah, I know. Almost two years.

Have any of you known me to be this silent for that long? I shall not be silenced any more. I promise. (sorry). I'm not entirely sure you really wanted to read my rantings about Iraq anyhow.
